Our condo is spacious and was in excellent condition when we moved in last November. We have a magnificent view on the river. ... The building is quiet. Co-renters are all friendly and polite and we are a very "diverse" group. Maintenance staff is outstanding, every one else is helpful and prompt. We are next to a subsidized rental building where occasionally things can get noisy (honking, loud calling, etc) especially at night. Very rarely during the day. Coming from 35 years in the Rondo and Crocus Hill neighborhoods, moving in this non-neighborhood (few social amenities, little public transport) has been quite an adjustment. We miss walking to nearby stores (especially in winter) and the easy socializing. We do not care for the food and lack of warm drinks in the place by the river which is open only a few months a year anyway. We are glad the new Cafe Brazil is opening soon. Great location along the river. Large apartments that are well cared for. And it's super quiet! We live in the dog building ... and never hear anything except if waking in the hall past a door. Whenever we've had maintenance issues, the office and maintenance staff are friendly, helpful and fast. We've had a refrigerator and microwave replaced plus a number of minor things: never more that 24 hours for a response. We are now on our second renewal. I am surprised that the reviews give 3.8 stars to Riverview at Upper Landing Apartments. I believe this place deserves 5 ... stars without any doubt. After living here for more than a year and a half, we've had a great experience so far. The management is very professional and friendly. All maintenance requests have been managed effectively and efficiently. The management continuously upgrades the infrastructure and improves the living spaces. For example, the parking garage recently installed electric charging stations for those who have electric cars. We received a free carpet cleaning for renewing the lease, a very generous gift from the management. The location is, in my opinion, one the best in the Twin Cities to live as we are by the Mississippi River, in a premier park of the city of Saint Paul. Walking to the riverside walk and connected parks is fantastic. The apartments are also close to restaurants and bars. I believe these apartments are a great deal, given the amenities, location, management apartment's interior, space, parking, and cost. I could not find any better deal in the years living in the Twin Cities. We recommend this place for anyone, including small families and single people of all ages. I’ve lived here for a year and have loved it here! Some of my favorite parts have been that dog wash station in the garage, ... it nice to have that for my own dog. The apartment and view I had was absolutely beautiful, I loved being able to walk outside and enjoy the beauty of the river. Makes you also forget you are living in downtown. Best area in the summer to either walk or scooter to all the great restaurants or the Xcel Center that’s so close by. Maintenance was always very quick to come fix things in the apartment and always very nice and professional. Because of COVID I was not able to experience all of the amenities but the staff was always great at communication doing some events for the residents. We just moved in and our air conditioner started to go out last evening. I called maintenance, and Doug responded within ... 30 minutes of that call. He concluded that the a/c needed to be replaced and promised to arrive around 11:00am today. As promised, he arrived with a new a/c and it only took a short time for him and his co-worker to install it. It's been awhile since we've rented, but I don't ever remember such a quick response and correction of the problem. I want to share how impressed we are with the response of the staff for maintenance items, and the investments to maintain ... the property - lately the carpet cleaning, etc is very appreciated for a clean and great smelling commons area. I wish some tenants would take better care of the facility by picking up pet dirt, leaves, etc that they bring in, and the small things, like putting away shopping carts (instead of leaving them in the hallways) for the use of other tenants, etc. But, on balance, we are very happy here and feel the value is very good for the expense. Love my home at Riverview
Riverview has been my first 'grown up' apartment since graduating college and working full time. I absolutely love being ... home and spending time in my apartment! Here are some of my favorite features of Riverview: - Location: practically downtown St. Paul and near W 7th street activities, Xcel Energy center. Quiet community. Close to all of the St. Paul action, but peaceful near the river and tucked away from the business. Close to 35, 94, Shepard. Airport. Depot/Lightrail. Cute brewery within walking distance "Bad Weather Brewing Co." - Pet friendly: such a beautiful scene for walking my dog with the Mississippi river in the back and plenty of trails both walking and biking. I also appreciate that one building is for people with pets, the other if pet free. - Amenities: The fitness center is nice and has everything you would need. The technology in there is great too- watch TV on elliptical/treadmill. I have yet to use the TV room- looks great. Also, tanning room for the long winter days... - Front desk staff: They are so friendly! They respond promptly to my emails. Great service to take in packages. -Maintenance: The lock was sticky on our door, maintenance fixed it within an hour of my request. -Safety: I feel very safe living here (I'm on first floor). -Common rooms: Nice space to rent, or get out of the apartment. People do use the common rooms, which creates for a sense of community. -Cleanliness: Staff is there ALL the time keeping common areas clean. Upon move in, my apartment was SPOTLESS. Carpet steamed too. -Community building: I appreciate all of the events they host to again, create a sense of community in the building. Also the notices of local happenings such as Winter Carnival, or what play is at the Ordway. My only wish is to not have carpet! My husband Bill and I moved in last November. Love the apartment, the porch and great heated parking. Hands down though - ... it's the view!!! I head out the the Y every morning at 5:45am. Get back at 7:10 and immediately head to the window to see sunrise and what's happening on river. Come home at night - look out on the lights on the river. I think it's going to be hard going to work in the summer when boats and barges are heading up and down the river!!! I may have to take vacation days just to sit out on the porch and watch the show! Wonderful place to live!
So happy that I found this place! Having grown up in Saint Paul, it was hard finding a place that offered the excitement ... of the city without the congestion and headache. Riverview is really the best of both worlds. Walkable to tons of bars and events but removed enough that you feel like you've got your own little slice of the city to yourself. Staff are wonderful and responsive, heated underground parking is a life saver in the winter, and the value for the location is great!
